‘Gilmore Girls’: Tumblr Has Proof Paris Geller is Secretly Gay As Hell
A lgbtq+ Paris Geller? Yeah, I would watch that show.
And apparently, so would thousands of other people if the internet has anything to say about it.
Tumblr, aka the home of Gaylor Swift, has queered up yet another badass blonde. This time, it’s Gilmore Girls character Paris Geller.
According to #Gellmore theories, Paris is secretly a repressed lesbian who was wildly in love with Rory during their Chilton days. But because Amy Sherman-Palladino was all about heteronormativity, Paris was straight-washed.
Fans have posted memes, artwork, mood boards, and extensive fan fiction about what they think Rory and Paris would be up to these days if they were together.
But perhaps the best #Gellmore posts on Tumblr are the ones that reexamine moments from their Chilton days through a queer lens. It’s through this translation that they’re able to prove that Paris was actually one angry, repressed lesbian who was hopelessly in love with Rory.
The most popular item of proof comes from a scene in season 1 episode 13 aka “Concert Interruptus,” where Rory, Paris, Madel

No, you don’t call to mind when I did that? Well, here is A Research IN GILMORE, all 116 pages of it.
This came about several months ago when I realized that Paris and Rory, much appreciate Sherlock and Watson, are a prime example of what we at the Niche like to call The Dynamic. This is a far-reaching term for the specific combination of personality types that make up the greatest cherish stories of all time: a brainy, overbearing Absolute Nightmare and a mild-mannered, self-abnegating, and extraordinarily courageous Sweaterboy. It probably bears mentioning that “sweaterboy” is a gender neutral term; the Dynamic can be composed of any gender combination, but it’s usually gay.
I myself am not actually a fan of Sherlock – like, I’ve seen Sherlock, and I cried when John was standing at Sherlock’s grave going “don’t be dead!!!” because I’m a human being with a beating heart. But it never really stuck for me, which is probably for the optimal . I’m also not a fan of Gilmore Girls, because Amy Sherman-Palladino is a detest criminal. But somehow, the notion of Rory being a retired war correspondent battling PTSD and depression,
Surrounded by shows like One Tree Hill, Dawson’s Creek, and even her fellow characters in Gilmore Girls, where female characters rarely existed outside a relationship, Paris Geller (Liza Weil) was unique. She was a main character who wasn’t interested in dating. The few instances in the early seasons when she did date, it didn’t amount to much. She had a failed meet with Tristan (Chad Michael Murray), a mostly off-camera relationship with Jamie (Brandon Barash), and an entirely out-of-character relationship with the much older Professor Fleming (Michael York). Even her later relationship with Doyle (Danny Strong), which is the longest one featured in the show, didn’t always come across as romantic. Instead, the two seemed to be extraordinarily good friends who were missing a romantic spark. There was no lack of chemistry between the two and Paris and Doyle went toe-to-toe in the delightful banter that Amy Sherman-Palladino is so well-known for. They equal each other’s strokes perfectly, but it just never felt romantic.
In the context of the other new women on the reveal, Paris is starkly alternative. Not just because of the way she treated every facet of her life with an i
