Hi. I am Elias, 22 years old, and will tour to Taiwan soon.
I contain searched already on Romeo and similar platforms, but never really found so much for what I search.
I also search ONLY for lont term partnership and not just for sex.
Now my question is: Does anyone here recognize platforms to find such people? I tried already platforms like Romeo and such, but the people there are just into sex and mostly nothing else.

This is an intriguing post. It is not my experience at all that most / representative gay Taiwanese are after sex only. Whenever I was using dating apps, e.g. Tinder, in Taiwan, I had quite an opposite experience.
After meeting up once or twice (regardless of whether sex was involved), many seemed to expect exclusivity and some kind of “boyfriend” status.
Keep your mind open, everybody is different. Give Tinder or Hornet a depart. I am sure there are plenty of guys there with serious intentions.

In Mandarin, there’s a specific phrase to describe someone who has zero relationships under their belt. They’re called 母胎單身 in Chinese, or “single since born” in English. Assume of it as an extreme case of being a 40-year-old virgin. Some people who determine as “single since born” have never dated, never been courted and never been kissed.
In Taiwan, where the marriage rate and birth rate are at their lowest ever, it’s not uncommon for both men and women to remain forever alone, by choice or not. The issue is so urgent that Taipei City’s mayor proposed a “marriage subsidy” in November 2020 that’s essentially a cash bonus for getting hitched.
But a marriage subsidy does nothing to inspire people to fall in love. Especially when so many adolescent adults in Taiwan have limited association practice. Ironically, this lack of online dating experience is what makes Taiwan such an intriguing market for dating apps, which rely on a very profound bench of singles curious about gathering new people.

Yes, it is. It is overwhelming! Most of gays have the App on their Android-system mobile phones. However, I don’t consider more of people are looking for true love in this virtual society. They are only for hook-ups but pretend to observe for friends:(

Hi Jialin, I’ll be in Taiwan in January and one of the first things I’ll be looking for is getting a smartphone, iphone or android, and using the location-based gay networking apps like Jack’d. Not because I’m desperate (sounds like I am lol) but because you can really meet kind people and produce friends and more. It is absolutely not just about hook-ups at all, you can really meet nice people on there and hang out!
