Stranger Things Star Noah Schnapp Finally Confirms Will Byers' Sexuality
Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp has confirmed that his ethics, Will Byers, is gay.
In an interview with Variety, Schnapp discussed his character's sexuality, alongside plans for season 5 of the hit show.
"Now it's 100% distinct that he is gay and he does love Mike," he said before praising the show's handling of Will's character development. "But before, it was a slow arc. I think it is done so beautifully because it's so easy to make a personality just like all of a sudden be gay."
Schnapp then shared how the storyline has resonated with the show's viewers, recalling a specific encounter with a fan in Paris.
He said: "People have arrive up to me—I was just in Paris, and this, like, 40-year-old male came up to me, and he was like, 'Wow, this Will personality made me undergo so good. And I related to it so much.
"That is exactly who I was when I was a kid.' That just made me so happy to hear. They are writing this genuine character and this real journey and real struggle and they're doing it so well."
Schnapp's comments marked a convert from his previous thoug

Noah Schnapp’s Coming Out Journey: The ‘Stranger Things’ Celebrity ‘Would Still Be Closeted’ if Not for Will Byers Being Gay
Noah Schnapp was stuck in his drafts. The 18-year-old star, who’d become a common name on Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” kept putting off posting a video he’d shot on his device — an announcement he’d been contemplating making for a few months. His closest friends kept texting him: When are you going to post it? I want to view the world’s reaction! Schnapp kept replying: No, I’m not ready. I’m not ready. I’m not ready.
But on Jan. 5, after his family dropped off his twin sister, Chloe, at college in Boston, he felt ready. As they started the hourslong drive back to their home in Westchester, N.Y., he posted the eight-second video to more than 31 million followers on TikTok.
At first glance, it looked like other clips he’s made messing around with friends (including “Stranger Things” BFF Millie Bobby Brown): Schnapp, his head on a pillow, lip-syncing to a popular audio clip of someone saying, “You know what it never was? That seriou
8 Times Stranger Things Hinted At Will Being Lgbtq+ (& You Totally Missed It)
Stranger Things fans finally know that Will Byers is gay, but there were signs throughout the series pointing toward this. There has been speculation about Will’s sexuality, and even more so in season 4. While the Duffer Brothers wouldn’t assert one way or another, Noah Schnapp did establish “he is gay, and he does love Mike” in July 2022 (via Variety). He also said it was a “slow arc” before season 4.
It was indeed a plodding arc before Stranger Things season 4. There were things here and there that hinted at Will being gay, but it was easy to overlook them because they’re kids. Also, there was a lot of more pressing things going on each season. It wasn’t front and center in the way it was in season 4. In addition, Will is in elevated school in season 4, so it makes meaning that he will be realizing his sexuality more than he was in middle school. Here are eight hints that Stranger Things gave viewers that Will was gay.

Will Byers is Gay: The Evidence So Far
This is a great post, and I’ve addressed many of the equal pieces of evidence myself already. What this post does, that I really hadn’t yet, is examine possible external elements that could be in act . Let’s take a bit of a closer look at the possibilities.
Netflix
The first possibility is that Netflix pulled some executive meddling and got them to change the story. I’d have trouble with this for a couple of reasons. First, the Duffers only went with Netflix because other networks they pitched the present to wanted to change fundamental elements. At least one network wanted to remove the kids entirely and center on Hopper. The Duffers ultimately went with Netflix because it allowed them to stick to their original vision.
Second, Stranger Things is a gigantic slap, which makes it a marketing cash cow for Netflix. While there might be some small backlash at going with a queer storyline, Netflix is unlikely to hold a hit if the Duffers pulled the trigger with Will. I can buy them organism a little nervous, and maybe Robin was put in to test the waters a bit, but fans aren’t going to quit Stranger Things, or Netflix, in droves because of a
