This LGBTQIA+ course has been constructed specifically to not only educate but raise awareness about people who recognize as being part of the LGBTQIA+ community.

LGBTQIA+ stands for Lesbian, Gay, Double attraction, Transgender, Queer. The ‘+’ includes people who define their sexual orientation and/or gender identity as anything other than heterosexual. In this course we will look at this in greater detail with the aim of raising consciousness about people who identify as LGBTQIA+ and how you can support them in your care.

LGBTQ+ Awareness

Our LGBTQ Awareness course is for anyone wanting to know the up to date laws and legislations around LGBTQ+ itself. You will learn the importance of language and terminology in relation to minority groups and how the ways in which people are referred to and portrayed can possess a significant impact on how they are perceived in society. You will learn whilst there are some similarities between bullying and harassment, the two are different, particularly when it comes to legalities.

All about this LGBTQ+ Visibility course

This LGBTQ+ Awareness course will cover some of the specific language and terminology that is used in relation to Queer. This course will also cover discrimination and intersectional discrimination in detail, as well as looking in depth at the difference between bullying and harassment.

The Human Rights Act 1998 will be covered in this course and you will learn that if any individual believes that their human rights own been breached that they can take action against this in court.
