Unbelievable and Stupid but Funny

This movie is incredibly unbelievable and incredibly idiotic, but dont let that hold you back from really enjoying it. Jack Black and R. Lee Ermey are hilarious, as always. The plot is worthless and I would have been satisfied with just Black, Zahn, and Ermey on screen the whole time. Easily worth one good viewing, in the right mood, preferably intoxicated. An underrated triple-buddy gem.

Come on now yaaahaaa!

Jack Black and Steve Zahn..you gotta love them.

This movie is just about as stupid as you could possible imagine. The story line is puerile in the extreme. The characterisation is non-existent. The route lacks any sense of control. And yet....and yet this is the funniest film i have seen since There's Something About Mary.

Jack Black and Steve Zahn are two of the best comedic actors in the business today. It seems to me that, precisely because of Dugan's lack of dominion, these two guys gave free rein to all of their improvisational instincts and they save the film from being a complete mess. They are sensational. Jack Black's steady mimicing of Neil Diam

R. Lee Ermey, the tough-talking Marine Corps sergeant turned performer best known for his role as a foul-mouthed Vietnam-era drill instructor in “Full Metal Jacket,” died Sunday from complications of pneumonia. He was 74.

“He will be greatly missed by all of us,” his longtime manager, Bill Rogin, said in a statement. “Semper Fi, Gunny. Godspeed.”

Ermey, who often played military or police roles in clip and television, grew up in Toppenish, Wash., and enlisted in the Marines at just 17 after his second arrest for criminal mischief.

A staff sergeant who also served as a drill instructor, he spent 14 months in Vietnam beginning in 1968 and was given a medical discharge in 1972.

While studying at the University of Manila in the Philippines, Ermey was cast in a miniature role as a chopper pilot in the 1979 Vietnam War epic “Apocalypse Now,” where he also served as a technical adviser to director Francis Ford Coppola.

But Stanley Kubrick was the first to look Ermey’s true on-screen potential. After existence hired as a technical adviser for 1987’s “Full Metal Jacket,” Ermey was given the remembered role of crusty, no-nonse
