'I was hacked', says Pyne after homosexual porn 'like'
Cabinet minister Christopher Pyne says his Twitter account was hacked after social media users noticed his account "liked" a lgbtq+ porn site.
"I was hacked overnight!" Mr Pyne tweeted on Thursday morning, noting he was asleep at 2am when the pornographic image was "liked".
"Someone tried to hack my social media yesterday. Maybe they are making mischief over the plebiscite?"
Mr Pyne's account has since removed the announce, but not everybody was buying his explanation.
"I don't believe so darling. Welcome to the club," one Twitter user replied.
More than 100 people responded within hours of the minister trying to pour cold rain on the situation.
"Mate, even my 3yo knows when he's been naughty. Be accountable for your own actions," posted another.
Several pointed out the peculiar approach of hacking an account to "like" one rogue tweet.
"Hahaha ... funny as. The hacker got in and liked one post," one user said.
"Yeah. This is the most common thing hackers do. Be meticulous everyone!" warned another.

Christopher Pyne was elected to the Residence of Representatives for the seat of Sturt in 1993. He retired from the Parliament in 2019.
He was the Australian Minister for Defence responsible for delivering the $200 billion build-up of Australia’s military capability, the largest in Australia’s peacetime history.
Christopher has also been a Minister in the Howard, Abbott, Turnbull and Morrison Governments serving as Minister for Ageing; Minister for Teaching and Training, Minister for Industry Innovation and Science and Minister for Defence Industry.
In his time as a Minister he has delivered the National Innovation and Science Agenda, reformed the National Curriculum, introduced compulsory literacy and numeracy testing for Australian training graduates and expanded phonics teaching in remote schools in northern Australia. In 2006 he founded “headspace: the Youth Mental Health Initiativeâ€.
Christopher is the creator of “A Letter to my Childrenâ€, published in 2015.
Before entering Parliament, Christopher practised as a solicitor.
