January is an exciting month for festival-goers and music lovers. Lineups for festivals all around the country are released this month, from Tennessee’s Bonnaroo, New York’s Governors Ball, Boston Calling, and many other festivals.
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, typically garners attention for its star-studded lineup. Due to its popularity, Coachella has the ability to get bigger artists on their stages, favor 2020 headliner Frank Ocean, who hasn’t performed reside since 2017.
Celebrities, popular social media influencers, YouTubers and roughly 100,000 daily attendees flock to the festival grounds every year. The Center Coachella
The Center Coachella primarily serves as a safe and inclusive cosmos for the LGBTQ+ society in the East Coachella Valley. We are currently open Monday – Fridays from 9am-4:30pm, with some evening and weekend programming.
Our resource center has one CyberCenter with two computers located in the lobby, and one community room that allows for aid groups, small events, activities, and meetings. Our aspire is that The Center Coachella continues to deliver LGBTQ resources closer to folks living in the East Valley, especially in the unincorporated communities of Mecca, Thermal, and North Shore. This Center Coachella will evolve and accommodate to community needs and ideas. Together, we will grow and collaborate!
The Center allows residents with whom we have already been privileged to work to create, lead, and facilitate culturally competent programming for them and all Diverse folks. Supporting individuals with additional tools and resources will elevate their support. Our space allows us to center our perform while we continue to uplift all LGBTQ+ voices in the East Valley.

Week one of Coachella 2025 is in the history books.
The annual music festival held in Indio, California turned into pure Mayhem – in the foremost way possible – thanks to Lady Gaga, who headlined night one with a performance that many are calling the best in Coachella history.

Queer+
Queer+ is an initiative to archive, celebrate and strengthen the LGBTQIA+ x BIPOC (Queer+) community at Coachella. We hope to intensify the culture by sprinkling the glitter of event on Queer+ attendees and their allies. As we spread awareness and remain authentically in our individual truths, we invite every person to come together and unite for acceptance.
Our Empowerment Q+amp
Q+amp is an empowerment camp for Queer+ individuals that provides a select group of people a unique opportunity to participate in the festival as Q+ampers. Q+ampers can expect to be fully immersed in the Coachella Festival experience with VIP access to most festival activations and opportunities to interact with Queer+ leaders of the festival. We hope this experience empowers each of our Q+ampers and also creates a community from which we can expand the Queer+ attendance of the festival.

Is Cara right about Coachella being 'anti-LGBT'?
"I still decline to go to a festival that is owned by someone who is anti-LGBT and pro-gun".
Those were the words from Cara Delevingne as she explained her decision to boycott Coachella to her 41m fans on Instagram on Sunday.
Despite being left "speechless" and in tears by what she called Beyonce's "iconic" headline production, the 25-year-old continues to protest against the alleged principles of its billionaire owner Philip Anschutz - who has been linked with far-right Christian evangelical groups.
Delevingne, a supporter of gay rights and herself sexually fluid, added that she should be "allowed to shame that man and the festival and still show my appreciation of an artist at the same time".
In response to the model's remarks, Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) released a utterance saying it "wholeheartedly" supports the LGBT community.
